1. Drink enough liquids.

8. Plan ahead.

Little Gift for Mental Health and Wellness


So I was walking home yesterday afternoon, tired, preoccupied, aching all over, my eyes fixed on the pavement. Suddenly a woman's voice nearby said, "You look nice today."
I looked up and saw the unfamiliar face of a forty-something woman, smiling and looking directly at me. She repeated her remark. I thanked her and looked back quizzically.

"Do I know you?" I asked. "No. But you look nice today." And she walked on.


As I continued on my way, I realized I was smiling. I felt taller, better, as though this stranger's kind remark had given my self-esteem a booster shot and improved my physical wellbeing at the same time.
